Hey fellas, I bought a Fallkniven F1 fake a few years ago and I fell in love with its shape and design. I was wondering if there is a knife out there like it for around $60 give or take, I don't want to buy a real F1 because im really hard on knives and i cant justify spending $130 on a knife ill just lose or destroy. Im steel doesnt matter as long as its not bad. Thanks:thumbup:

The F1 is a near copy of the Cold Steel Master Hunter (CS came out a few years earlier). The CSMH is still about $99. You may have to look to a different design like the Becker BK16 Drop Point, which you may find you like better. It runs $72.95 and will take anything you might dish out.

Thanks DocT I actually settled (turned my head and made the order) on a BK14, I heard it is a great knife.

The BK14 is a good little knife. Like the BK24 better with D2. But... anyway, I suggest you consider putting handles on it as the handles turn the knife into something you can actually use beyond opening letters or slicing a box. The BK-16 or BK-17 would have been a good choice too, but a bit more expensive.

I was looking at a Bk16 but found it a little too much knife for what I need it for. The Bk14/24 is all I need and yes scales are going on that b**** most likely the high fiz orange ones because im prone to dropping stuff and losing knives

You can save up for a real Fallkniven F1 now. Great knife. I only have one, but it has the factory micarta handles on it and it was pretty expensive. You can save it for woods duty rather than edc.

Exactly what I mean to do 22:) Wow that F1 sounds brutally expensive but for woods duty must be a tank. Currently for woods duty I use a mora clipper, a CS GI tanto and/or a boys axe plus a SAK which I EDC everyday.

Vicarious Reality, im the type of person that could break a nokia:p But really anything you can think of, besides trying to cut rocks in half, I have done to my main blade.

Hey, Twank! Sorry I did't see you. friend.

The BK14 is really a great blade, I have one and I think if your not doing a lot of chopping it should handle anything you want to do, it is differently tough enough, but it kinda lacks weight. It's almost as versatile as the BK16, but I little smaller package. :D

I would not spring for the Falkniven if I were you. They are quite expensive, and their warranty isn't the best. You could buy two BK16's for the price of a F1 and I'm positive that the BK's will last longer.

Good luck with whatever you decide!

This puppy is $15 or less and can take a beating. Buy 4 of em for under $60! Handle is not incredibly comfortable, but still a great value from Cold Steel. I have had one for years and its still in good shape. Plus it is Stainless like the F1 (just not as good steel of course)

I have been wanting an F1 for a long time but can't force myself to pay the money. I am not hard on my knives and my Moras do everything I need them to.

I think you will like that BK14 but it does need some scales to be as nice to use as the F1. Good choice.
