I just bought my first Sebenza today it was pre owned and I was wondering if anyone could help me with some info. It was at a local shop and marked "Stars and Stripes". The steel is BG-42, there is a single thumb stud for right handed opening. The screw heads are on the backside (where the pocket clip is at). The coloring on the stripes is faded slightly however the blade is in mint condition. Must have carried the knife and never used it! The thing is that I know NOTHING about CRK other than I like the way they look and feel. Can anyone give me some info about this knife.( year that it was made, how many made or any interesting info concerning this knife). Thank you.:)

it is an older model, perhaps 7-8 years old. maybe older?

crk has been using s30v for some time.

the stars and stripes graphic is fairly common, so exact numbers may be hard to come by.

unless there is a "p" near the pivot. if so, it is quite a find.

I was thinking that the "Stars and Stripes" model didn't make an appearance until after 9-11. I'm guessing it did not come with it's original box as it would have included a BOD (born on date) card inside the box. I think the lettering/numbering on the inside of the frame indicates year, but not sure. I'm sure though that someone knowledgable will come along with a definitive answer! Congrats on the Sebbie!!:D

The handle coloring is anodized onto the titanium and usually doesn't fade. It does get less intense with any dirt or oil though, so give it scrub with a soft brush and some detergent to see if it brightens up.

I thought the same as well until I saw a stars and stripes "P" marked Seb.
