I have a friend who's neighbor is selling some older traditional knives. He sent me some pictures but to be honest I'm not sure what I'm looking at. I have only been into traditional for the last 4-5 months. I see a Barlow and some case knives but that's all I recognize. So I'm asking the great people of this forum if y'all spot anything that stands out in this group shot. Thanks!

If you could see and feel them in person it would be better. I think I see 4 Schrades including the barlow in the 3rd row from top. Is that a Case mako 1st left 2nd row? Theres gotta be something worth having there.:D

Better pics would help, I see a Shrade Uncle Henry folding hunter, (I forget the pattern#), no see a written EO Jack in winter bottom bone scales on the bottom left, what looks like a knock off 110 some Spanish looking patterns and what looks to be a military style scout knife.

Better pics will get you your answers much quicker, I posted so I can follow your thread and I'm sure with more info the regulars here will chime in.

Thanks for the quick replies. I'm going over there in a couple days to check them out. May be some good knives to do a giveaway for assuming he doesn't want an arm and a leg for these!

Looks good, bottom left 2nd pic looks like a dogleg in winterbottom bone, another dogleg up the pic, maybe a boat/rope knife, looks like a couple of electricians knives, plus the schrades. Get em ;-)))

Best regards

Robin

The winterbottom bone dogleg easy open looks very much like a 50's era Queen-- nice knife.

I would check the lockback on top row right side and the barlow somewhat in the middle. It's too hard to see from these photos.

Might be something good in there worth paying a couple bucks for, but overall they look to be in pretty rough shape - heavily used, broken, and the victims of abusive sharpening. Still, there are one or two I'd like to have a closer look at, like the fixed blade with the guard and the shiny brown stockman.
Maybe once you're there and flashing some cash, the owner might bring out the good stuff. :)

Coupla' Cammies, some Schrade, looks like a Hungarian knife, shows some promise. Better pics and/or in person inspection are gonna be your ticket to ride.

Are you talking about the knife in the center of pic 2 being the Hungarian folder? That's the one I thought looked like a Spanish knife of some sort, I'd like to see a better off that one. Now that you mention it, it kinda looks like the Spyderco Hungarian.

Yes, the one with the flared bolster in the middle of pic 2 looks a lot like the traditional Hungarian pocket knife:

(Not mine, found the pic with Google.)
