  • Today marks the 24th anniversary of 9/11. I pray that this nation does not forget the loss of lives from this horrible event. Yesterday conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was murdered, and I worry about what is to come. Please love one another and your family in these trying times - Spark

Trying to get some info on ths guy. Charleston West Virginia so Kelly Axe and tool right?? I see what probably says Hand Forged with an arm and a hammer. Bevels I've not seen before. Any guesses on the year?? Thanks for any info fellas, I appreciate it.

I believe the original maker's mark had
J.P. KELLY PATENTED
CHARLESTON W.VA. NOV. 18. 1899
HAND FORGED
on the other side you should find
CHIP...........JPK mark.....TEMPERED
SLINGER ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,TESTED

Some of them had slightly different mark
CHIP................JPK mark..... SILVER
SLINGER.................................EAGLE
I believe in your case the one without Silver Eagle name is correct

I see there is another thread titled

JPKelly SilverEagle ChipSlinger Double Bit Axe

Same looking bevels on that double bit as this one, the other side of mine is pretty pitted, I'll have to check it tomorrow and see if there are any distinguishable markings.
