Military! Sprint or Ti in your budget

Ps: You job sounds more interesting than mine!

+ 1 for the para 2. It'll hold an edge through your day of cardboard surfing and nit picking without worry. Tough enough to brave the unknown depths of boxes and packages without worry.

How about a Benchmade 940 or a Spyderco Para 2! Good Luck! Kevin :D:thumbup:

I second this suggestion. The 940 has a much slimmer profile, so little less obtrusive in pocket (this is typically what I edc). You can't go wrong the Para2, though. It just begs to be held and used. Also, if you want a little longer blade, at 4", the Benchmade 710 is an awesome choice. Has a recurve, so need to think about that when sharpening, but the amount of blade that comes out of the slim package is quite surprising. Benchmade Griptilian with G10 handles is really nice, but handles are a bit thicker than others mentioned.

ZT 0550! If you don't want a beautifully crafted tank of a knife that will handle anything, I will back those calling for the 940 series...definitely a 943 though. I'm saying that because I like the blend of black scales and blue liner, the blade shape on the 940 may be your cup of tea but check em out.

Honestly, any knife under the sun will do what you need it to do. Question is how much time do you want to spend sharpening your knife? Is there a weight criteria? Any deployment method preference? Blade profile preference?

Look at a Benchmade 710, ZT 0801, or Spyderco Gayle Bradley.

Buck Omni Hunter 12pt, Cold Steel Spartan, Gerber Gator, Spyderco anything with that blade length, but also maybe a longer M16? They have a few that border on 10" overall and look pretty spiffy. I love my M16 to death!
