Need a New Jacket

I am seriously thinking about picking up a Force Nine Work Jacket from Duluth Trading. Unfortunately, the website has only drawn pictures of the jackets. The outside of the jacket is nylon but I don't know if it is the type of jacket that makes the little "zip" sound as your arms move as you walk. I am insane and this would just push me right over the edge. Anyone have one?

I don't have one but I have purchased items from the company and whenever I have had a question, I called them and they were very helpful. A quality company

I tried one and like any nylon kind of jacket( and some cloth!) it will make a little noise, but it's a thicker, softer kind of material and not really inherently very noisy. It's heavier than the normal kind of three season jacket, even the ones with removable fleece inner coats.

It was a good jacket with plenty of features. I returned mine cause I was looking for something a little longer and more dressy--as my wife says, a coat rather than a jacket!--but for $76 it's a good deal and very competitive with a lot of the technical jackets out there, only heavier. It's also cut differently so if you want a lot of flexibility, like say you're skiing, it may be too long and too binding at the waist.

I can't comment as to how well the moisture barrier stuff or heat retention works as I tried it on during warm weather.

If you're into traditional fabrics, they also have a nice cloth jacket and coat that's made of their "firehose" cloth material, a thick weave that's like say a Carhartt work/barn coat or almost a cordura fabric but much softer and already broken in. Overall they have some pretty nice choices in clothes, and if they're on sale they are always a good deal.

They make good stuff and have a great return policy so why not get it, try it on, and then make a decision? You'd only be stuck with return shipping charges at worst.
