I am in the market to pick up a new tactical. I need as near 4" blade as possible with out going over. 3.5" minimum. I want something with a good clip and must be able to handle hard use and kick a** if needed. Steel type is not a concern (no 420 of course, 6m is fine). Under $100.
So far, I am looking at the Pro KFF. The large m16. I would like some other options as well. TIA, Brian

I strongly urge you to check out the Kershaw Boa. Much better steel than the Crkt.

Outdoor Edge Magna. AUS-8 steel, available with cold forged aluminium handles or zytel scales. Both, under $100 US. The one with Zytel scales has slightly thicker liners than the aluminium version, but both or solid and tough.

When you said "large", the REKAT Sifu came to mind..
Since you have a limit of 4", you might want to take a look at the REKAT Carnivour. It is a VERY stout folder, with a blade just under 4", and if you look hard enough, you should be able to find one for right around $100.:).

Magician,
I'd strongly urge that you consider saving up an extra $17 to purchase a Benchmade 710 with the axis lock. It would be money well spent IMHO.;)

I'll second the Spyderco Military and Benchmade 710 suggestions. Both are well made knives that should serve you well. :)

I think you'll find the BM 710 to be highly recommended in that price range. It's rugged and with a great locking system.

Another vote 4 the BM710. I have seen them for $106.29.
It is a great knife with a tough lock.
Cheers,
Gord.

Another vote for the BM710. I'd even suggest you save up even a little more than the 17 dollars and get the M2 steel version.

it depends how much importance you place on the lock, the BM axis lock is best, then flowed by the REKAT rolling lock, and the BM axis rip off's.

If you want a super lock the BM 710 is your knife, a SOG arclock could substitute if you are on a budget.

But if you are comfortable with a liner lock then look at the BM 803 tsek, it is near 4in has gin-1 blade steel, and is a very well built knife, with good tactical utility.

my choices based on how much i would want to spend would be

CRKT-m-16.14
spyderco endura
BM 803
BM 804
BM 710

CRKT Crawford/Kasper 50/50 edge.Buy two cause they're cheap.Under $40.00 including tax at most gun shows.Try it You'll like it!tom.
