I am looking for any advice on a new Golok style machete. Condor is the company I have my sights on, but I am wondering if anyone has another blade worth looking at. Any advice would be helpful. Thanks!

Which style? Goloks come in a wide range of blade shapes. :)

You can't go wrong with a Condor Golok for sheer bang for buck as a workhorse, although others out there may be more pretty looking, if that is a concern.

I have the condor Golok, and really like it, excellent little chopper with a very comfortable handle, heavy enough for chopping through branches but light enough to carry for hikes.

I know these are way out of your price range, but It’s the best one I have ever handled. It comes with a diamond sharpener in the sheath.

Winkler Jungle Knife.

Heh--that's cute. I like it!

Go figure. Edwood with a Winkler. :D

Thank you all for the input. I will check out those suggested. Looks are not really an issue, I need I thick beast of a blade that can be a real workhorse.

Workhorse for what? And what is the reason for requiring a thick blade? Just curious as it will help point towards a particular model for your purposes. :)
