So I've decided to get a new pair of sunglasses to replace my Oakley A-Wire 2.0's and could use some suggestions. I'll mainly be using them for driving, fishing and general everyday outings. I have contacted Oakley about getting replacement lenses for my A-Wires but since it's a discontinued model, no dice. :( I was also offered to go with their upgrade program but I want to keep my A-Wires so that's a no-go as well.
Here are my requirements:

- Polarized lenses (subdued color)
- UV400
- Metal frames (subdued color, thin frames)
- Simple design; no over-the-top, "loud", in-your-face designs
- No visor or shield-type lenses

I was looking at the Oakley Whiskers which seem to be a descendant of the A-Wires but I wanted to consider other options before making a decision.
I don't really have a set budget but I'd like to keep it under $250. If it fits my requirements and really speaks to me, I don't mind paying a bit more.

They don't match your criteria, but I'll say it anyways; Buy a pair of Global Vision Hercules Sunglasses.

They're virtually indestructible, very hard to scratch, and they only out you $10 if you don't like them. They make a great pair to have stashed somewhere in case your main shades break, since you know that nothing will happen to them if they get neglected.

(I'd check out the rest of their catalog, too. They make some good stuff.)

I took a look at them and they're certainly interesting. They certainly wouldn't be a bad buy at $14! Thanks for that :)

I have a pair of Oakley Whiskers and they are very nice, I like the way that they don't press on your temple only behind/above you ear. They can be had on ebay for less than $100, I think I paid $80-90 with shipping to Sweden from USA. Currently looking for a pair of square Whiskers but that seams harder to find.

Maui Jim! I've had mine for 10 years! Their customer service is excellent too!

Looks like I'll have to give the Maui Jims some serious consideration. Thanks for the suggestions. Keep them coming!

Check out Dillon Optics ( of Dillon reloading fame) really like mine. drawback is they are kinda $$$$$$

There has been a few sunglass threads in the recent past. Do a quick search and then a little reading. I like Oakley. Lot's of good info in those older threads. Maui Jim has had a bit of support.

Try Serengeti...... Superquality glasses specialized in use for driving, glying and watersports!!
They'll use up your entire budget, but you'll never want anything else!!

Best of luck

Oakley Whiskers look really nice to me. I'm due for a new pair of shades and I've been thinking of going this route myself.

I wore Maui Jim for years. They are among the best out there. About five years ago I was introduced to Bayz sunwear. AWESOME!!!

I like these Oakley Blenders

Randolph Engineering. I dropped my polarized glass lenses lens down from 4 feet yesterday. I figured I broke them or at lease scratched them. Neither. The optics are amazing, they are made in the USA and are tough as hell. Best sunglasses I've ever owned and I've had a few pair of everything over the years.

Maui Jim for sure. They are not too easy to break because they have so much flex. Ive been wearing the Dawn Patrol for quite some time now.

Nothing wrong with Maui Jim or Oakley but my favorite glasses are from Costa del Mar. They have a lifetime warranty and customer service is excellent. I talked to several fishing guides before making my decision and that was the overwhelming recommendation. There are a few models that meet your criteria including these: https://www.costadelmar.com/shop/sunglasses/ballast
