Need a new watch

I just started a new job that doesn't allow me to wear my wrist watch. I've worn my pathfinder for years now. Anyways I need to find a find a watch that has similar functions to the pathfinder but could be worn either clipped to my belt loop on my pants or worn in my pocket. Anyone have any ideas?

This is just an idea.

Remove the watch band and put the pins back making sure the screws are tight. Take a length of paracord (with or without the inner strands), loop it through both pins, make a loop so you can attach it to your belt (or belt loop), and put watch in pocket. I would run the cord through the pins so that it would always be positioned properly when pulled from pocket.

Picture added.

I bought a Bertucci watch
Its plain n simple , just a watch , I wanted something plain an simple easy to read tho .
I blaked at the price , it was about $160 Au
But the winder / adjuster being moved down a little so it doesnt stick into your wrist / back of hand was a nice touch
The titanium case is nice too , and the fact it has no pins for the band .. THAT sold me on it , I have lost a few watches when pins broke that held the band .

The watch seems to come with at least one " NATO approved" band , mine came with a leather one , I was impressed enough that I bought another one for my mum , hers came with two webbing type bands .

The face isnt really as scratched up as it seems in the second picture .. its taken in low light , indoors , longer exposure , so it shows up more is all .

The talk of putting some kind of paracord band on one made me think of this actually .. the pins being a pretty weak spot in a lot of watches if you do the kind of stupid stuff I do anyway .. hands in engine bays , in rock holes .. places they get jammed and you got to drag it out and watches get jammed / hooked up / twisted about .. anyway .. seeing this has a one piece case sold me on it , thought Id share .. I am not afiliated in anyway with the makers or retailers :)

I don't know what a Pathfinder is, or what it does, but supposing it is a quality piece it should be a trivial matter for a jeweler / watchmaker to adapt it for use on a fob.

If it is one of those modern plastic shelled jobbies just thread a different strap on it. Replacement nylon strap military watch bands are about £2. Thread through, cut down to desired length to function as a fob, seal with a lighter, and attach to the self with a nappy pin. Voila, classic nurse watch.

Last, it occurs to me that if your job precludes a wrist watch some of the functions many watches may have aren't actually that useful during the period the problem exists. Knowing the time in three time zones is probably not the priority when you are shoulder deep up a cow's geniva. In which case swapping out for something like this might be handy. http://www.wengerna.com/traveler-pocket-alarm-73015

If you have access to a sewing machine, it's pretty easy to fashion a fob out of nylon webbing. I've converted NATO style watchbands for this purpose. They're nice and long.

Cut off the buckle end and burn it off with a lighter. Fold it over the back of the watch and add a nylon strap clip (sold at most backpacking stores) and sew it off. Very easy project.

The Casio Pathfinder is the older model name of their watches with compass, barometer, and altimeter. The newer models are called Pro Trek. Instead of spring pins like most watches, they have stronger screws. I use Maratac bands which go through both pins. Both pins would have to break to lose the watch.

My post above has a picture of a Pathfinder that I put together as an example of my idea. The cord can be run through both screw "pins" so that it can be viewed easily when pulled from the pocket. If it were me, I'd just loop it around my belt and put in my pocket.

I like titanium and that Bertucci. :)
