Woke up this morning and the leather came unthreaded at the elastic on the side of the sheath. Only had this one for three months(the sheath). I was going to get one of the full nylon sheaths from the local hardware, but all they had was the Charge sheath with the silver emblem. Same thing though. I fear this one won't last long either. Has anyone tried a maxpedition sheath for their Wave/Charge? If so, which one?

Thanks and Keep Cuttin',

Dylan

See if you can get an original Wave sheath (the molded one made by Bianchi). I've had mine for close to a decade and aside from some shiny spots on the nylon, it looks new and I expect it to last another decade with no problems.

Get the military molle sheath leatherman makes it is tough. You can order it off of there site.

Their sheaths are getting pretty grotty , I tend to carry mine in nylon Mag pouches .

+1 on Leatherman's MOLLE sheath - I use it for my Pulse but it will fit their larger tools, too, because the flap can 'shrink' or 'expand.'

No disrespect to Maxpedition - their stuff is solid. I just prefer the somewhat plainer Leatherman MOLLE sheath.

Get a leather magazine pouch from a holster manufacturer like sideguardholsters, mernickel, or sunrise leather. It will last.

Are you looking for a leather sheath or a ballistic nylon sheath. If you are looking for leather check out the offerings from cheaper than dirt. I just bought a Triple K combo sheath from them (I needed something to hold a mini maglite too). It was a little tight on my SOG powerlock, but I saddle soaped it and now it has great retention. JBP has a leather single leather mag pouch that looks nice. I use a spec-ops super sheath on my MTV, its nice because it can be mounted horizontal or vertical and the flap is adjustable for different size tools. Hope this helps.
