was wondering if a Ranger RD series 1/4" thick- 4" blade made of 5160 triple temp to 58rc is any good? and a ballpark price?

They're miniature Army tanks with very sharp edges. I've seen them online with a nylon sheath for $90 plus s/h. You can get the slightly longer RD-6 for the same price, too. If you want a super-tough knife with a 4" blade, you made the right choice.

They hover above and below $100 for 6" through 9". There have been many threads and photos of the Ranger RD series and I cannot recall a single comment that did not praise these knives....not a single one. The RD7 is on my wish list!

Thank you this one will be my first one to try out, i got it with above mentioned features and orange G-10 handles for $85. Thanks a lot guys!

The RD series are super strong and have one of teh best warranties going. Justin (the owner) is a great guy to deal with.
