I'm looking into making some rowels for spurs. I need a source for steel sheeting between .060" and .070" thick. Stainless would be preferred, something along the lines of 410, has to be pretty tough. I'd consider something like 1020 or something similar though if the price is right. Main consideration is that it can be made strong enough to resist bending and that it won't rust TOO fast.
I checked out toolanddie.com and they have exactly what I want but its precision and alot more expensive than I'd like. Don't need the precision on this and I'd like to get off cheap as possible.
Thanks for any ideas :D

Im not familiar with what you are making, what size do you need?

Would 304 SS work? If so, is free cheap enough?

304 or 316 are readily available, structurally sound and only a couple of bucks per pound if you have to purchase some. It is available at almost any metal supply outlet.

Thanks guys I'll have to look into that.

adammichael,
Free would rock, but if all goes well I'll be needing a lot of it. So I better just go ahead and find a source, thanks a lot though :D
