So one of my friends is asking for a recommendation. He wants a folder with a glassbreaker. His doesn't want to pay over $25 but he's looked at an EL-01 and he likes it except for the glassbreaker and righty only clip position.

Any other recommendations will be much appreciated.

I cant think of any knives with glassbreakers to be honest.. However, any aluminum or g10 handled knife should be able to break glass just about as effeciently...

You could never go wrong with a kershaw... Im pretty sure they make a "blur" model with a glass breaker but its closer to the 60$ range...

Sorry I couldnt be of more help! :(

Thanks for taking the time. I'm thinking of a RAT-1 for him if I can't find anything in his budget with a glassbreaker.

Sanrenmu T21?

Or a bit stretched, but a Cara2 G10, the tip at the butt can work (I heard some says Bradley with the protruding liner will work).

Thanks Chris. The cara-cara was mentioned too but the guy seems to prefer a thumbstud. That T21 looks like a good one, is the clip able to be moved to a lefty carry position?

Ontario knives utilitac(pardue) folders are a greAt knife for less than like $40. Even cheaper if u hunt around. As far as breaking glass it's doesn't have a dedicated breaker but if u hold rite all that's needed to break glass is pressure at a concentrated point. I've used a bolster and also the corner of the blade while.it's.closed. hope u find what u looking for

Hey Chuck! I know the Boker Magnum line offers several models with glass-breakers that can be had for $25 or less. Most wouldn't make the grade to a steel junkie with 440A, but it's enough to get a guy through the day, I guess. I've heard SanRenMu OEM's for Boker on the Magnum line and many folks seem to be pleased with SRM quality. Meyerco might have something as well. Another idea is looking at some keychain doodads that have carbide tips for smashing glass...

Good luck! :)

Maybe a Ganzo G716? It has a glassbreaker and can be found for around $20.

As a G716 owner myself, I second this suggestion. I'm not sure how easy it would be to switch sides on the clip - it appears to be attached via the glass breaker, so that must screw out. In any case, I really dig mine.
