need a sheath

I've never posted here before but I need your help :o

I am looking for a sheath in the 4-4.5 inch range that is NOT leather, and that is not kydex alone. I like kydex inserts that are molded and fitted, but I don't like the retention to be the kydex, I want the retention to be a thumb break (a snap, not velcro).

I like the look and functionality of sheaths that have kydex inserts but are surrounded by tough nylon with maybe a pocket for a ceramic stick or a firesteel or something. Molle compatible would be awesome. There are great things available for big knives, but nothing in the 4-4.5 inch range.

Any ideas?
Thanks!

Not sure if I am spelling it right, but Semper Paratus Tactical has done some amazing rigs before.

Also you might look at the Spec Ops sheaths, they are very well made.

Dan at Semper Paratus has told me before he doesn't do stuff that small. I tried to get to his website earlier but it won't come up (I was going to ask him if he would be willing to do a couple of small ones custom for me).

The Spec-Ops are nice (minus the velcro retention) but the 6" is their smallest, and my 4" blade might not make sense with that.

So I'm kind of at a loss...

Well shoot! That didnt help much.

I have a few Eagle Industries sheaths that I am very happy with, though they are expensive.

I hear Blackhawk has a few to offer, but the quality isnt up to Spec Ops standards.

I hope one of these is good to go.

You might also Google Cordura Sheaths, or Kydex Cordura sheaths and see if that turns up anything.

i have a couple of the blackhawk sheaths. they are good quality, the crk green berets used to come with a blackhawk.

again, i think the problem will be a sheath that is too large for the blade. i think the smallest blackhawk is for a 5" or 6" blade.

if you can get your hands on one of the old stock busse nylon/kydex sheaths, there were some for 4" to 5" blades. not the greatest, but may suit your needs.

better yet, 360joules (forum name) makes nylon rigs with kydex inserts. or he knows a guy that makes them. in any event, they are well made and im sure he (they) could fabricate something for you.

Ok guys, I was able to contact Dan Hirayama over at Semper Paratus Tactical. Apparently his site is down because he's switching administrators.
He said he's willing to do sheaths for me. I'll try to post pics when I get 'em!

Cool! I'm glad he is ok! :)

You wont find a better person to work with.
