Looking for someone who can make some San Mai steel billets for me.
Specs: 1 1/4" wide x 11" long X 1/4" thick
They probably will need a good press setup and a rolling mill
Mild steel wrap with an good high carbon core, has to stand up to serious use in the field. Will be for a premium fighter series I am working on.

I'm probably not interested right now, too much on my plate, but how thick do you want the core?

Might try Gene Osborn, Center Cross Knives, just depends what he has on his plate.

I have the equipment, depends and how many and when. The material is important. Mild steel is not a good clad material for a working knife, it will rust at about 3 times the rate of a clad with 3 points C. If these are waterjet or laser cut than I can make sheets 4.5 by 22. With nesting programs and commercial cutting it is cheaper. I've worked on and developed my San Mai process to make good cutting Mosaic. The three layer San Mai I use in big blades is 15N20 clad 52100. This material will give you a three point RC advantage over homogenous material...Ed
