Basically I want a good camera for shooting macro. I have been using a Flip Mino Hd and while it shoots great video outside of 8 inches or so. I cannot do good macro shots at all. I was looking at the Kodak SX5 but heard Kodak is unreliable. I looked at the Sony bloggie touch and there is to many mixed reviews on it. I just want something basic in the $130 dollar price range that I can shoot good macro with, that is it. And the camera will be stationary during shooting.

I bought Wife a camcorder last year. Don't know about macro shooting, but after much research and comparison shopping I went with Canon, specifically the Vixia HF M30. The camera cost about $500 and it has a minimum focus distance of 10mm (wide angle). There are also screw-on macro filters available for the camera, and they cost around $60 extra.

Here's a great youtube video showing the Canon Vixia HF M30 in macro action:

I haven't tested the macro capabilities of the camera myself, but that video is impressive.

I honestly have no idea what $130 buys as far as video cameras, but I wouldn't hesitate to buy Canon again and you shouldn't overlook that brand when comparing specs and models.

Happy shopping, and good luck in your search.
