Need advice. Best blade that will serve for both fighting and survival?

I like the looks of the ZT0180 or the 0100. I have also looked at the Vulture Cholera and Talon.
Any :confused: Would like a design that would work for fighting if a last ditch defense were in order :eek: and also survival if need be.

That's exactly what a Bowie knife was designed to do. IMHO You would be better off going with a custom from a reliable & experienced maker than with any factory blade.

I'd go with a Busse or a Mission Ti knife.

Yeah, sounds like a bowie is the best choice for your criteria though. There are thousands to choose from. Search for the annual 'Best Bowie' threads here on this forum.
 
lol doug! you like the look of the small ones, but they wont do the survival/ combat thing very well on thier own. a bowie with a 10" blade and a pocket folding knife with a 2 1/2"-3" blade will do almost anything you need if they are good quality.

Okay, my friend some of this was generally mentioned before..........Best for a knife fight is the knife which when carrying it will allow you to talk your way out of a knife fight, probably the bigger the better for intimidation.

Best for survival, is any knife that will carry comfortably with a Master Card or Visa assuming you have to sufficient intelligence to position yourself within eye sight of a decent Hotel and restaurant.:cool:

Lots of answers, but I reckon your question is a bit vague if you are looking for advice on what to buy for a particular purpose.

For instance, everyone has taken you literally that you want a fighting knife, as in something you might carry with full expectation that you will get into a knife fight, and when you do, it will be a knife on knife type duel affair.

Maybe that's just what you want, of maybe you are planning a lengthy trekking trip through the third world and want something portable that will work as last ditch defence (although you aren't planning on getting into trouble) and help make fire and do general field tasks. In the latter case the Spyderco Temperance II could work well.

It all depends how folk interpret the question, and there is room for a lot of interpreting.

Or you might just be asking an idle question to help justify the next addition to your collection ;), which is also cool.
