You might look at some of the Bark River offerings, the PSK for example.

I picked up the Ka-Bar TDI LDK ("Last Ditch Knife") neck knife just out of curiosity, but its actually a handly little blade. Certainly about as small as you can get a neck knife and still have it be a usable tool.

  • 3 5/8" Overall length
  • 1 5/8" blade
  • 9Cr18 Stainless Steel
Just a little stamped out piece of steel, but it does all sorts of EDC chores with ease.

You may also try the Cold Steel Mini tac offerings, I have the Mini Tac Kiridash and It's pretty small and light. AUS-8 steel.

The Todd Begg Tree Frog is the best neck knife for ME. It is light, and I don't notice that it is even there. It is sharp as sharp can be. It feels great in my hand.

I'm a huge Murray Carter fan. I think his necker are some of the highest quality knives I've ever seen. They're a little bit pricey, but for the quality of the workmanship and materials, I don't think you can get a better knife for your money. If you think the Izula is a bit big, though, you probably would think these were big as well, they're about the same size. Although he does have a few models available now that are much smaller (he just released twenty new blades yesterday).

I'm still kicking myself in the butt for not jumping on an
RJ Martin necker (w/magnetic sheath) someone had for sale on the exchange.

Lots of good choices in this thread. Enjoy the hunt ! :)

I'm not a big neck knife fan in general, but I own and love a Fiddleback Forge Runt. Look in the Makers area for his subforum.

I will say CRKT folts minimalist. It is very affordable around $20, small and unnoticeable for neck carry, and comes in 3 useful blade shapes. I have a wharncliffe one and like it alot, it really lives up to the "minimalist" name because you don't need any more than the knife the way it is

If you can find one still (some places still have them), I highly recommend the Spyderco SWICK. I own an Emerson LaGriffe, a CRKT Ringer, a KaBar TDI, and 2 SWICKs. There is a reason I own 2 SWICKs! They rule!

Murray is not doing all his own work, things are busy and a guy needs an apprentice so the results are not always the same. A number of other makes are picking up on neck knives, I'm shopping around.

I love my Izula!

Also love my Fishwolf custom pocket blade...

just ordered a flashpoint from rick hinderer.. will see how that is...

I never carry them on my neck, but i've found most 6" or so neckers make excellent pocket blades...
