I posted before about a goofball that damaged (bent) the pocket clip on my daughter's green Tenacious. I need to remove the clip and fix it but I've read so many messages about people that have stripped out the screws that I want to gather hints on how best to do this.

I've seen the Torx sets at Home Depot that have been covered in many threads on this forum so I'm assuming the first step is to buy those. With proper bits what is the risk of stripping out a screw? Should I attempt to heat the screws to break loose the loctite? Should I use some other tool to try to break loose the screws first?

Proper size bit and heating the area, a 10 second dunk in boiling water for example, should do the trick. Biggest problem is that some have Torx screws, some have metric allen screws and neither are top quality, so it can be hard to tell them apart.

I used torx on my Resilience & directly opened the screws without issue. Need to be firm & confident when twisting the first break.
