Need advice on a custom knife

I am considering commissioning a custom fixed blade from a maker here on the forums but I don't really know much about the makers or the process, so I am wondering if it is possible and looking for some recommendations. I basically want to send a fixed blade design to someone and have them make the design for me. It is essentially an ESEE 6 with a modified tanto instead of the drop point and made out of 154-cm. If anyone can tell me give me a referral to a maker that is capable/willing to do it that would be great.

Thanks

You're fishing in the wrong pool.

Go to the "Exchange" and look for "Knifemaker Services". Ask your question there.

You may want to look at the various sites accessed through the Knife Makers Discussion board first. Do your homework and you'll find what you want.

I Highly Reccomend Alan Davis. He made a folder for me and his prices are very reasonable. Check out custom made folders and fb and look for aland....Alan Davis.

Alan is currently making a small EDC FB for me as well. His work looks really outstanding. I've also had FBs made by Chase Axinn at Chax Knives and by Harry from Twin Blades in Statesboro, GA. All of these have performed very well. Some of the knifemakers on BF will advertise that they work from their patterns or yours.

I would also suggest checking in the Feedback section for the maker you're thinking of using. 99% of the ones here are really talented, honest, stand-up folks. You'll want to avoid the 1%.
