Hey all
my son came home with a misfit Case Finn, stacked leather handle, got about a width of a credit card (little more than that) gap between the leather and the spacers, sheath is a floppy mess, somebody "treated it" and cut on it and modified it. The sheath i can make a replacement for no biggie the handle is what im looking to correct. Im fairly competent with making sheaths and some holsters, im not a pro but i know enough to make serviceable stuff. What are the options to fix this myself versus sending it back etc.?
the leather discs have held together as a unit just seperated from the spacers on the top and bottom if that makes sense
appreciate any input

You could check to see if the butt is loose. I am not sure how it is pinned but, if you can tighten it and compress the handle that would remove the gaps.

thanks! im not sure how the pommel is attached i dont see a pin or anything?
picts as requested

Cut a leather washer the proper thickness. Cut one side of it through to the center. Stuff it in the empty space. Grind it down to match the rest of the handle. Dye as necessary.

thanks bill i was kinda thinking i might try that, got some scraps that might fit the bill, should i just fit the washer or use some type of adhesive also? might complicate things though, anybody know how case attaches the pommel?
thanks so much

I don't know for sure but more than likely there is a pin. Sometimes they are hard to spot but I bet there is one there

If you stuff it in there tight, no adhesive is needed. It's best to leave the pommel alone.
