To make a long story short harder and more wear resistant steels like m4 and s90v glaze my 600 and 1000 grit stones when I try to sharpen them. The stones literally do not abrade the metal at all. I can make 100 strokes then look at the stone and there will be no metal deposited on the stone. Other steels like 1095 and aus8 are no problem.

I've tried lapping the stone per Ben's suggestion and that made no difference. Should I try buying new edge pro stones, or buy stones from another maker? Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

I haven't tried S90V but when I reprofiled my bradley, I could see black swarf on the runoff water and none on the stones. Are you soaking your stones before using them?

On the 1000 I can't see any swarf but I know that it's working from the polish that's happening. Took a longer time on the M4 than say, S30V though. You'll notice it under bright light.

I would eventually like to try the chosera's for the edge pro. Pricey, though.

Dude, Ben sells all the stones you need. There is nothing that will not yield to his Course stone. It sounds like you could start with his 180 though as the Course is best for re-profiling. You'll be able to quickly move down to the 220 or 320 then the finer 2000 and 6000 grit tapes. I tend to sharpen my knives to 18 degrees according to his notches, (10, 15, 18, 21, & 24). 21 may work better for some things but there's not much need for a steeper angle than that. Stropping the edge is the last step with the finer stones or tape.

I've already reprofiled to 36 using the coarse stones. 120 up to 320 went perfectly. I noticed that the 600 and 1000 just didn't seem to cut.

Although I think I might have answered my own question.

I moved the arm up a tiny bit (so that it was covering the green dot instead of under it) and proceeded to work longer on the 600 and 1000. I didn't see much swarf but a little bit was present. I spent WAY more time than normal on the 600 and 1000 at this slightly higher angle, then moved to the 2000 and 3000 grit tapes. My Bradley got a LOT sharper than it was before. So I think I figured it out.

I did notice that the polish tapes seem to cut better than the stones though. There was much more noticeable swarf on the tapes than on the stones.

You could buy custom cut DMT stones for your edge pro, but I believe that's unnecessary given that Ankerson managed to sharpen his S90V para2 using the regular stones. I also put a mirror polish on my S90V Para2 with aluminum oxide belts, and the stones are also aluminum oxide, so it should reason that it would work just as well.

My theory is that since you were on a higher angle, you were actually doing a microbevel with the higher grit stones. That probably means a smaller area that you were polishing instead of the whole bevel.

Yeh, the polish tapes cut fast.

I use the marker(sharpie) to re-mark the bevel every time I change from one stone to another to make sure the angle is still perfect. The course stones wear quickly but the finer stones do not so the varying thicknesses seems to change the angle a bit.
