I want to add padding to one of my pants and jacket sets but I can't find the right material which will keep its shape. I was wandering what do people on the forum consider a good padding material.

How thick do you want the padding? Leather might work, or perhaps multiple layers of canvas or something, though I imagine if you made it too thick, you would lose some mobility at your joints.

You might be better off with separate knee and elbow pads like those worn by skateboarders instead of trying to sew material into your pants and jacket. Just a thought. Let us know what you come up with.

There are form pressed polyethylene foam pads made for construction workers that slip into pockets sewn into garment. Spares can be bought from well stocked stores
