I have a Schrade Improved Muskrat that my wife dug up a while back while we were out metal detecting. I dont have any experience with repairing knives so I thought I would try to get a few opinions. I would like to at least get this knife back to user status as I really like it. One side of the knife has faded from the sunlight. She found the knife just barely pushed in the ground. I have found a few old rusty knives while out detecting would the parts be worth saving even though the blades are badly rusted? Any tips on removing the rust from the blades would be greatly appreciated. I can send a scan of the knife if anyone would like so they can make a better call on how to fix it. Thanks, BenVA

Spray liberally with WD-40 or some kind of penetrate and let it soak awhile and atttack with brass brush and sandpaper and repeated spraying to clean the junk out.
