Ok Gang,
I am looking for a new EDC. Now I work in a office environment and want a knife that is "reserved". I have the "Pride" and a Uncle Henry Stockman, BUT I want something that locks.
Actually, I got a lot of knives but this is a good excuse to buy another one.
I was thinking about Kershaw 4380 The Kershaw Double Cross..... Its the knife that looks kinda like a pen knife but is a liner lock on the 2 3/8 inch blade.

Anybody out there have any experience with one ? What do you think of the AUS 6 steel. How bout the handle, the wood inlay, is it smooth and "classy" ?
And how about the warncliff blade, is it large enough to actually use.
I am really concerned about the steel. I want something that will hold an edge better then my Uncle Henry ( sharpens fast, dulls fast )

Thanks
Jack

What about that new Spyderco with the W.Cliff blade? Its got a sort of "classy" feel to it... Just a suggestion.

Well the SOG SEAL 2000 used by the US NAVY SEALS is made of AUS 6 so it must be a decent steel. I actualy owned a SOG SEAL PUP at a few mounths ago it was a great little knife and kept and edge very well. I found that it even held up to choping. So best of luck with that.

Have you checked out the BM Osborne 77X series. 154CM or D2 can be had with BC1 Boron Carbide coating(154CM only). Has various scale materials Carbon fiber, aluminium, (G-10 with the D2). AXIS lock and the blade is 2.8" so not to big very good little knife and it looks great too.

OK, now you're talking a subject near and dear to my heart. I have looked for and gone through numerous knives searching for locking "gent knives" in the 2.5" to 2" blade category. Here goes:

Spydies:
SS Dragonfly: excellent ergonomics, very well designed flat ground blade, classy looking.
Meerkat/Navigator: Although the lines and designs are somewhat different you're basically talking about locking versions of the Pride. Either one would serve you well.
Kiwi: Don't have but will eventually get one.
Co-Pilot: Neat little knife, great ergos and very discreet

Benchmade:
BM/Pardue 330: Actually called the "Gent Knife", excellent blade, nice handle made of titanium w/G-10 overlays.
Park Avenue: Very functional modified wharncliff blade, BC1 coating, very classy
770 Series: Don't have one but will get it, carbon fiber scales and Axis lock, 'nuff said

Misc.:

Al Mar Hawk Classic: beautiful knife, not a one hander but does lock and is retro-style cool.

Kershaw Scallion or Chive: Fun knives with the speed safe feature, blades are great cutters, feels great in the hand.

This is only a very partial list of what is out there. Any of these would serve you well. Some are discontinued but worth hunting. I know this is more than you probably wanted but at least you've got some options.

I second the suggestion of the Spyderco Kiwi...That's a classy little knife!

Well somebody's gotta say it...CRK Umfaan.
Yes, it's pricey, and currently discontinued, but they can still be found fairly easily. If you can swing the price, it's a damn fine little knife.

I would say get a Spyderco SS Cricket. Its got a VG-10 blade and an awesome "Sebenza" type frame lock.
Its very "office enviroment" friendly.

Thank you gang, you gave me some excellent suggestions. I am still wondering if anyone out there has a Kershaw Double Cross and what is their opinion.
I have not had a lot of luck with my new knives lately and wanted to get some opinions before I drop some bucks.

If not that knife then the benchmade 310 benchmite might be the way I go.
Or I was fooling around looking online somewhere and I saw a stockman with carbon steel not stainless with stag handles that I might try. I might start looking for it again.
Anyway thanks
Jack

I think that's a very good choice.
And another vote for the Kiwi...that's if we're voting. ;)
