I am a lefty, and after I received my 15" BVGRS (Thanks again to everyone at HI for making this great knife) I need to figure out a way to use it. I can't spend $ on a new sheath, so any advice will be appreciated.

TIA

I'd put it on my right side and do a cross draw. I'm right handed and usually do the left cross draw.

You could take the frog off, and reverse it, but then the blade handle would be close to your body, and not the small tool pocket, which is the way it was designed.

Fellow lefty, here. I just put the frog on the other side. If you don't mind the seam showing I think you'll find the crossdraw pretty handy.

All this raises a question. In most pictures of khukuri carried in a sash, the handle is presented to the left hand. Ghorka (and Ghurka) troops carried them on the right hip with butt forward. Absent an unlikely proportion of "lefties," the mechanics of the "draw" are not obvious.

For sash carry -- MAYBE: grasp scabbard with left hand (back of scabbard across meat of hand and handle against wrist); draw scabbard from sash; rotate scabbard 180 degrees, keeping edge of khukuri up and presenting handle to right hand, draw khukuri. Trouble is, elsewhere I have seen opinions that favorite stroke is upwards, and the mechanics described are better for a fast downwards, diagonal stroke, upper right to lower left (wielder's perspective).

For the right hip carry, all I can think is that one rotates the hand inward to draw, but it seems clumsy.

That's why I use the cross draw. IT is more awkward if you use the right designed sheath for a left hand cross draw. (from the right side)

If Frank says reversing the frog works I'd sure try it if I were a lefty.
