Hi,
It’s been a while since my last knife buy, and now I’m considering trying a Winkler. I’m looking at the Belt knife, Blue Ridge Hunter and the Woodsman.

Random questions:
- are the tang on the Belt knife skeletonized like the BRH and the Woodsman?
- do they all come with the same, thick edges, or does for example the BRH have a thinner edge, intended for other use?

For now I’m 30% for the BRH, 30% for Woodsman and 40% for the Belt knife, mostly because I percieve the Belt knife as the quentessential Winkler, and because I find that tapered tang oddly satisfying..

I wish i knew about the skeletonized tang but there is a video on the winkler website that may have that info.
I have the Blue Ridge Hunter and like it very much. Mine has the scalloped maple handles.
Also check their military discount if you where military and order factory direct.
That is all i got!!

I am not sure whether the tang is skeletonized or not, but I can tell you that the BRH had a similar edge to the Belt Knife.

You can always contact Winkler directly via email. He has always been very responsive to questions in the past.

Both my Belt knife and Case Winkler Skinner were thick behind the edge. The Case is skeletonized for sure but not sure about the Belt knife.

Love them both

I have a BRH that I sent back to be thinned out to 30 DPS and it really is a great slicer. I have a 3V belt knife that I think was lightened in the handle. I really like the BRH but also appreciate the belt knife.

Yeah reach out to Winkler and they will be happy to help. They were very helpful when I had a question a few weeks ago.
I don’t think you can go wrong with Winkler in my opinion. I bought a Case Winkler first and then a Jaeger which is the Winkler/J.Knight collaboration. Both great knives to me. I did reprofile the Case Winkler as it is more of a kitchen duty knife for me.

good luck, I don’t think you will be disappointed either way you go.
