need advice: Phosphoric acid to blacken blades

Does anybody use phosphoric acid to blacken - phosphorize - their blades? If so what strength acid do you use and what type safety precaution are needed to safely do this?

Some of the american gunsmithing suppliers sell the chemical compounds with instructions to "Parkerize' steel which is a phosphoric acid based process as I understand it. You might get in touch with Brownells. they have this, or used to. they can be reached at www.Brownell.com
