Need advice

Hello I am new here,Wanted to say hello. I have been carrying traditional style knives for years. I would like to switch to a more modern type of knife,something with one handed opening,also looking at a decent boot knife,any suggestions, Thanks in advance for any info.

Well, get ready for about 100 different opinions. Really, the best thing to do is go put your hands on the knives yourself and figure out what feels good to you and how it will preform using it for the intended task. I'd narrow the field down to about 10 knives before I started looking at the particulars.

I'm a big Benchmade fan and would point you in that direction, but I don't think you'll be misled by any opinion offered up on this board.

Of course, the amount of money you're willing to spend will be a huge factor in making your decision.

The Kershaw Military makes an excellent boot knife. At the online price you can find them for, if you lose it it won't cost much to replace.
