Hi all. I'm new to this site. My family is in the process of dispersing our late fathers estate. Oh which includes ~70 fixed and folding blade knifes. Many are collectors folding blade knives (about 40). And there are 7 beautiful custom Stanley M. Fujisaka fixed blade knives. Any advise would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

you might try speaking with arizona custom knives or fort henry knives. bladehq and gpknives seem to do some personal purchasing(i.e. , from individuals. i'm sure you'll get plenty of other suggestions. good luck.

If you're not in a big hurry and don't want to give them away to a Purveyor, sell them yourself one or two at a time.

Actually, it is in violation of the rules for the OP to be inquiring about value. Posting images would be bad idea.

Sorry, I didn't now. This is obviously the wrong site.

As I read it, you didn't ask about value. You asked about the best way to go about selling and didn't offer to sell here. To answer your question, the above references are good choices.

You do have the option to become a gold member and sell yourself here (or as many as you can) which will net more money for you and less consignment costs. If you have the time to do so.

It is best to continue to not ask values or post pictures or try to sell (again, I didn't see where you did) which would then be a violation.

Good luck with your families estate and I'm sorry for your losses that led to this.

WHAT IS MY KNIFE / GADGET / SPATULA / TUNING FORK WORTH ?!?!?!?!

In order to curtail potential abuse of membership privileges associated with the forums, questions regarding valuation of knives and collections are limited to those with a membership level which permits selling on this site. Accordingly, registered and basic members may not start or post in threads with such requests whether with the intent to sell or for informational purposes only. This rule applies throughout the site.
In other words, without a paid Gold membership, you don't get to ask about sale values. Too many people abused this question to hint they had a knife for sale, which you need that membership for.

Actually, I don't think you could find a better site than this forum. The membership's depth of knowledge is probably unsurpassed. Tapping into it for the price of a paying membership (can't remember, is it $50??), you will never find better advice and value. If you choose to, I would suggest developing two lists, one with the fixed blade maker names, the other for folder maker names.

Scan the two documents and post them in a thread here, something that, I would think, would surely draw comments from the group here, especially if the collection includes maker names of great interest.

Or go the other route, with a dealer, and pay 25% of the top of their sales.

More than likely there are several other ways to go about your project, this beng only one suggestion.

First off, my condolences on the loss of your father. :(.

Next, I can't answer any questions about values - and asking here without at least a paid Gold membership is a no-no, as explained abocve.

If you have 70 knives to sell, IMO it would be worth the small cost of a Gold membership here so you could post pictures and ask questions to your heart's content and get the right advice for your particular collection of knives, because one size definitely does not fit all. There is no greater collection of knowledge of knives and knife values than at this website.

Good luck!

Plenty of good options. My advice with ^^^ theirs:

Contact Dave Harvey at Nordic Knives. He is the foremost reseller of estate knives and past collections, and he is a VERY fair businessman.

Good luck. Dave would be ALL over those Fujisaka knives as he has clients who are familiar with his renowned work.
