UPDATE: Mundial responded with the following:

"All of our commercial, stamped knives are manufactured with high carbon stainless steel containing iron, carbon and chromium. Small amounts of certain metallic elements are added to the iron: molybdenum and vanadium which increase the knife's sharpness and ability to hold an edge, as well as aid in rust resistance."

Any guesses now as to what steel???

That combination could be used to describe some varieties of 420HC.
(420HC is not an official alloy, so what you get depends somewhat on who you buy it from.)

AG Russel quotes the Latrobe Steel 420HC composition:

_____________C_______Mn_______Cr__________V_________Moly
420HC____0.40-0.50 ___0.8___ 12.00-14.00 ____0.18______0.6

In that concentration, Vanadium serves as a grain refiner, and Moly does increase corrosion resistance.
