Hi,
I just got a brand new small Sebenza 21 with inlays.
While inspecting the new knife I found a rough spot, where there should be none.
It's on the backside of the opening pin. It's one of the newer single studs, where the backside looks like it has a little spot in the center.
If I wipe across with a paper tissue it get's caught. It's not a biggy and I want to remove the rough spot.
The stud is silver.
The question is: How do I do it without touching the blade?
Any ideas?
Thank You in advance.

PS: Sending it back is not an option - sorry.

Not exactly sure what is happening here, but you possibly could tape the blade for protection then hit the spot with fine sandpaper followed by a polish

I've had 2 or 3 like that.
To remove that burr on the back side of the thumb stud at the top of the dimple or peak I just fire up the dremel with an ultra fine stone and barely touch the burr for about 1/10th of a second- works everytime and isn't noticeable in any way what so ever.

Just be certain to have a steady hand and if your nervous or cautious tape the blade around the stud with a couple layers of tape.

You could also use the corner of an ultra fine triangle stone.

Good luck.

Thanks for the replays - I will use both.
I had thought about the dremel, but didn't want to mess it up.
So I probably tape the blade and try the Spyderco Triangle UF first.
Thanks again.

Happy to help.

I was worried about messing mine up too but since I carry the few that had that issue I was able to convince myself that if I scratched it up it wouldn't be a big deal, thankfully it worked so well that Chris himself wouldn't be able to notice.

Just remember, super light touch for as short of a time as you can touch it. You can always do it again, but, if you grind too much you can't put it back.
