i bought this knife to day think i kinda got ripped off is it a real balisong any help will be appreciated its a balisong benchmade has the number 42 on one side with a butterfly and 440c on the side where it says benchmade usa will post a pic

You could edit your post and add a picture. I think the question you might be asking is whether or not it is a real BM42 or clone.
 
no this is def not for sale sorry if i wasn't suppose to post that i just bought it and wanted to make sure what i paid was a good price
 
looks like a real, older 42. What did you pay for it, dont ask what its worth but we can say yes good price or no bad price.
 
lol to be completely honest i bought it on facebook for 10 dollars on a flea market site wow if its real good find for me and in to the collection
 
At that price I would highly doubt its authenticity, the handles should be titanium, I don't know if you're familiar enough with titanium to tell it from steel or aluminum, but I'd check that first, it won't be magnetic, and aluminum is softer than Ti generally.
 
Looks like an authentic BM 42a to me.
If you paid $10 for it, authentic or not it's not a bad score.
But it looks authentic to me.
If it's authentic and you paid $10... you got a steal and best score ever.
 
some ppl just dont know what they have and just found out it is real so in my collection box it goes with my wwII medal find i keep getting lucky with stuff like this they are titanium found that out by the greening on the t latch and some google searching thanks for the help everyone
