I'm looking for a long, fighting, HI blade.

I have a CAK, love it, but I'm looking at the HI swords or the longer, +20 inch bladed khukuris.

A little background, I compete in combat weapons at Taekwondo tournaments using 26" short sticks. So, it would be great to have a real blade that is similar to what I use.

DO you all have any suggestions?

Kobra is cool!
25 inch Sirupati is nice too http://yhst-7333098713883.stores.yahoo.net/25inchsirupati.html

Also one question back at you. I wanted to get some new foam padded 26" Escrima sticks for my daughter. Are there any that last a while? All I know is some cheapo version which lasted 3 months (and she is only 4 years old and no hulk...)and then there are some vague Amazon reviews on other sticks, no information I can rely on. Would be awesome if you know any good ones.
Thank you.

Dang Jens, that's a common issue with all Bahng Mahng Ee or weapons. Unfortunately I don't know of a brand that I would personally recommend. I purchase weapons through my organization and on my past three sticks, the pads continually slide off the inner frame so I always have to adjust them. One of the guy's i train with has had two frames actually snap in half. It's annoying and the weapons are expensive. I stick with my organization just because I compete in tournaments and I have to use the approved weapon.

I will say, if you're looking for actual escrima sticks I love buying mine from http://www.bloodsport.com/. Very affordable and high quality. I buy the Rattan sticks, keep some 26" 1 1/2 diameter sticks in my vehicles and train with the thinner sticks. They work great but hurt if you get hit by them.

Sorry for not having a recommendation, I really feel your pain. I've been there for a little while.......

Thank you Jeremy,
The linked guys are good. I had gotten some Kamagong sticks from there 5 or more years ago. They are still going strong because they are harder than the usual stick from rattan or other wood.
In training they are hated because the other guys have to buy new sticks more often. Love the weight of "ironwood"which gives strong wrists.
Maybe I'll make my own padded sticks. What do you think of plastic pipe filled with construction foam, wrapped in camping mat foam and around that I plan to sew and glue some leftover jeans cloth.
The hardest part will be fixing the foam around the pipe.

It depends on how strong a person is but the 23.5", 30 oz. Kobra is about the biggest I would want to use. It is the first one on the left. The 18"AK is fourth from the right.

I got the Amar Singh Thapa Knife and it is a BEAST compared to my CAK. I feel like I could demo a house with it.
