Just acquired this knife. took to the Buck Store for Spa Treatment. Was told 2002 Run, 440C Steel. They made a short batch of these with no Buck name on the knife but the Anvil is stamped with 50 in the middle. Im guessing its either what they said.... A 2002 Buck Remake of an original style or a newer Remake. Im asking the Pro's on this one. They thought Joe Houser would know for sure but he was unavailable while I was there.

Interesting, that's a 50th anniversary stamp (2014), but I have never seen one with the Bos mark. Someone will come around with the info.

I'm guessing it's the Magnolia from the 2014 Special Editions.

If you got it for the going rate of a run-of-the-mill 110, you scored big time. MSRP on that knife (if it's the Magnolia) is $ 200+ if I recall.

20.00 Dollars for it. His dad works at Buck Knife plant. After looking at the Magnolia Series that appears to be the knife. I have no documents but the knife looks exactly like that series. Nice work.

Gotta love C list at times.

Also picked this Kershaw 2420 for 10.00. I dont collect them and no nothing about this one.

Hmmm No serial number on what I think is the Magnolia.

It sure looks like the "Magnolia" I have....minus the serial number. There is even a little tear out in the scales under the rocker pin like mine. Very nice knife!

I had the opportunity to buy that series year before last year but had already ran out of cash. lol

The Kershaw 2420 has not been made in about ten years.....Called the "liner action" because if you push forward on the thumb stud the blade opens as if it is an assisted opener. I used that model as an EDC for several years....They stopped making them when the real assisted openers came out......Both knives are great!!! You stole both of them. "C" list sale makes me hope they were not "stolen!" at the price you paid....His Dad works for Buck and he sold it for $20???......

I wonder if he has been digging around in his dads dresser. lol I hope not.

I'm jealous...

I've found a few smoking deals on that site myself... but that knife for $20?!?!

I'm curious if it has the the retro ground blade, used on the original 440c 110s. That is quite a neat knife. Last week I found a site that had them in stock, it might have been a different run than the one pictured. I considered it, but it was too pricy.

at Scottcc, the blade is ground more like the modern knives. Just last night was handling my magnolia and a three dot, they are almost the same knife in shape and weight and quality

That would have been a nice touch, but I can understand why Buck decided not to go that far with it.

Could Buck even do the old grind anymore or would it take too much change over in equipment or retooling? Anyone know?
