Need assistance with Blur

I purchased a second hand S30v Blur blem last week. There was a gritty sound coming from the washers at the pivot screw area. It looked dirty so I went ahead and took it apart (1st knife disassembly for me), cleaned and oiled all of the parts and put it back together. The gritty sound is still present and now the blade rubs against the side opposite of the liner lock. This knife was very diifficult to reasemble due the the spring plate coming away from the frame when trying to put it together. Everything seems to be functioning properly otherwise. Although the rub and gritty sound may be aggravating, I think it could be a fully functioning user? Any suggestions? I think I read that Kershaw won't warranty/repair blems, so sending it to the factory may not be an option. Any assistance would be appreciated. Thanks.:)

You could ask them to send you a new set of washers
That might help if your washers are damaged and holding crap

I was able to get the blade more centered by loosenening the pivot screw pushing the blade over and retightening. I think you are right about the washers. The bigger was not shiny like the smaller one.

If you need any of the minor parts, such as new washers or pivot assemblies, go to Kershaw's website:

and fill in the info for the parts you need.

They'll ship them to you at no charge.

this happened to me also on my blur. I took it apart an re assembled it again and it fixed it. use a piece of tape to hold the plate on where the center screw goes that holdes the 2 sides of the knife together. put the two end screws in, pull off tape, put in center screw.

They probably won't work on it for free, if at all as there is no warranty with blems.

This... they'd rather not ever see the knife again. The reason why you got a steal of a deal on it is so that they don't have to add extra cost for anything. Fix it yourself, it's really not hard :)
