Need book (novel) info

Last night I watched the movie "The Manchurian Candidate". It was obviously updated from the original 1962 version.

The concept of implanting a microchip in the head of a candidate for the US Presidency with the intent of mind control was also approached in a techno-thriller novel in the mid-90s.

I read that book, but for the life of me can't remember title or author. Can anyone help me out?

Thanks, Mitch, but I am seeking the name of a different book published in the 90's that deals with somewhat the same theme of a mind-controlled Presidential candidate. I can't remember, and searcxhing the net for 2 hours hasn't succeeded.

I agree, Angela was quite the looker in her prime years.

No, Mitch, I never did find out the name of the danged book! :mad: I bet I've spent at least 3-4 hours searching on the web with every search string I could think of, to no avail. I KNOW I read the book. LOL Unfortunately I gave it to a guy at work to read and pass on; he's since moved on, too, so I can't even contact him.
