Hey guys, I'm looking for a bushcraft knife. Wooden handle, scandi grind, etc. For use in typical bushcraft tasks- carving, making tools, etc. Please post pics if you can.

I understand Mora's and the like are great knives but I'm looking for something that I can hang use everyday and eventually pass it on to the next generation. Thanks in advance

I would look in the exchange here under "fixed blades". There are tons good custom scandi bush knives that are affordable. You might also try Enzo. Here is an example of the Enzo Trapper

You might also check out RagweedForge. Good stuff there. Good luck.

Ka-Bar/BK&T----BK16. No wodden handle but that is easily fixed.

TOPS B.O.B. (brothers of bushcraft) knife.

Ontario Blackbird SK-5.

I know that I'm very, very fond of BHK's O1 tool steel while it has great edge retention and toughness what realy suprised me was how aggressive of an edge it could take that stuff can just get screamin' sharp not to mention it does a great job of sparking a magnesium rod.

+1 on looking at the for sale section here. I just picked up a sweet Scandi by joe hargis for well under what you pay for most production bushcraft knives. The spyderco bushcraft is awesome, but you want wood so that limits you a bit. Knife companies and makers are leaning towards micarta and g10. Enzo fits the bill and maybe look at helle if you can sacrifice the full tang.

BHK O1 made me fall in love with O1, and they still do it better than any I have tried (admittedly not that much). A scandi ground BHK Bushcrafter + a FFG BHK Bushbaby is the perfect camp combo IMHO.
Plus the handle on the BHK bushcrafter/baby is phenomenal, I cannot see anybody finding it uncomfortable. What's great for me but might not fit your tastes is that it has a basically circular in cross-section, making it comfortable in almost any position (great for whittling and fine work), the caveat being that it doesn't stay as firmly in the standard grip. You can always ask them to make you one with slightly thinner scales (would have an elliptical x-section) and tune to your liking.

I was just recently looking for a bushcraft knife, and ended up getting a Fiddleback forge bushcrafter convex sabre grind. I love it. I also have a Mark Wohlwend Pukko on the way. Look up woodbear knives. I love the look, almost got one. I also have a koster bushcraft in 3v, that is a GREAT bush knife, i had to contour the handles because mine was a 3rd Gen, but his newer bushcraft models have contoured handles.

Itd help if you had a price you were planning to stick around

Custom - Look at Blind Horse Knives Dan Koster & Fiddleback
Production - Look at Helle Knives.

My current beater woods knife is a Helle Symfoni. Love the handle on it as it fills my hand really well.

Halfneck- exactly. you might want to add JK knives to the custom makers. he makes great knives. honestly there are so many bushcraft knifemakers.

I'm a big fan of Koyote Knives...his scandivex grind is nice!

My fiddlebacks, from left to right, Bushfinger, Ladyfinger, KE Bushie, and 3 Finger Karda. The ergonomics to Andy's handles can't be beat! The only knife that I may get a hotspot from would be the 3 Finger Karda, but if I need to use a knife that long, I'm going to go with a little bigger knife. The scandi grinds are all pure, no micro-bevel or scandi/convex hybrids. The stock sheaths aren't the greatest, but when was the last time that a sheath was the deciding factor on a custom user? Just my .02 worth and personal preference for a "go to knife".

Here is a larger shot of the KE Bushie, this is my personal go everywhere, do anything knife...
