I have wanted a dagger for a LONG time and I think it might be nearing the time to pull the trigger. I have looked at the Cold Steel daggers and really like the Colichemarde and Italian daggers, but can't help but wonder what else is out there. Who else makes a quality dagger at a similar price? Where can you find an authentic antique dagger? I'm fairly open on what I want, something that looks similar to either of the styles I've mentioned and is quality made, and new or antique is ok. This will not be used for fighting/training/etc, just appreciated and kept nice. Please help me, I can't stand to watch another episode of Pawn Stars where something I want ends up in a pawn shop!

You can try Dan Graves, makes some custom daggers similar to the Colichemarde. Might be a bit more pricey, not sure. He occasionally sells knives in the 'for sale by makers' forum. I have one of his damascus daggers, it's just amazing. More artistic then a hard use knife, I have it up on a display stand. His website is:

Check out Arms & Armor. They have a long list of daggers and their quality is second to none. If you don't see what you want they take custom orders as well.

I am also in the search of a nice dagger. I really like this Randall model 2, but its out of my price range.

If anyone knows where i can find one like it let me know.

it seems daggers can be tricky when it comes to weapon laws. in iowa i can carry one only because of my concealed carry permit. the same goes for a switchblade:jerkit::thumbdn:

I am 4 years into my 5 year wait on my Model 2 order. Only 11 months left!

That is some serious patience. I guess you have a custom order because i have seen them for sale in various places. Please post pics when you get it.

I want to order a Randall for my son at some point but I have decided to wait until he is a little older and can decide what he wants (he's only 3 1/2). That is going to be a long wait!

AG Russell just came out with a Sting 3, which looks really nice. It's made in Taiwan, but then again your computer is made in China, India, and Bangladesh. I'm planning on picking one up soon.

I love the look of daggers. They are not particularly useful unless your business is killing.

Boker makes the Applegate Fairbain dagger, which is pretty decent and is affordable.Boker also makes(not sure if they still do)the Combat Smatchet, which is an awesomely massive leaf shaped dagger. The Smatchet lives on my nightstand and I don't play with it after I've had a few,it's bitten me before.

Böker doesn't - unfortunately - make the smatchet anymore.
The 5.5 A-F has attracted me so bad, but the price is outrageous!

Does anyone mind if I "hijack" this thread and ask how the Fällkniven Garn dagger sheath is? Does it rattle?

It is a real gorgeous version. Same steel and factory location. I don't see the handle material and "collaboration" being worth $215 more than a regular one. Too bad.

Does anyone know where you can find genuine antique daggers? I'm not into the really "modern" looking dagger since it is just for a collection, but I would love to find an excellent condition antique dagger or new dagger in a "classic" style. Thanks for all the info!
