Need DVR Advice Please

;) Hello. I have a 1999 Phillips Tv and a digital Charter cable box. I just bought a DVR and am now lost. I can route the cable to the TV thru the DVR but cannot get any picture to the Tv from the DVR. Was using same hookup as the VCR. Do I need an RF modulator? Any advice is appreciated.

What kind of inputs are on the back of your tv? What kind of DVR did you get? I need a little more info before I can give any suggestions.
