Need EDC folder: Small Seb, Mnandi, or WH Westcliff

I'm looking for a nicer (& nicer looking) knife to replace my EDC folder, currently a BM mini-RSK. The mini-RSK wears fine at work (BDUs) but when I'm dressed up, it doesn't really go.

I was originally set on a CRK ironwood inlay small classic sebenza, but in reading the forums, I began to consider an ironwood mnandi as well. Finally, after too much forum reading I was cruising the William Henry collections and I really like the look of the B07 westcliff blade style.

I looked for a WH ironwood B07, but I only came across one that was an older ATS-34 blade. Does the ATS-34 compare with the ZDP or S30V on the CRKs?

I'm entranced by the ZDP steel, esp the black DLC-coated attaches but I'm a little concerned about hand feel and durability of the carbon fiber scales. Also, any concern about EDC'ing a WH knife? They seem pretty collector/display oriented.

Any thoughts between these knives? I'm a little concerned about not being able to clip the WH knives inside my pocket as I've carried that way for the last 12 years. The gentacs look okay but I like the look of the westcliff blade, I guess I'm used to a deeper chord on the blade from my previous knives: mini-RSK, and Spyderco Enduras before that. Any problems with these skinnier blades for everyday tasks?

Thanks,
B

I find WH knives to be too fine for me . I would go Mnandi, one tough little knife in a package not much smaller than a small Seb'. I have two Mnandi and edc one of them .

I have a Small seb and a Mnandi and really enjoy both of them, both are very elegant and tough. I really cannot comment on WH knives as I have no experience carrying them (I'm a lefty).

You mentioned BDU's, so I assume that your everyday tasks might lean you more towards the Small Sebenza, it is a bit more stout than the Mnandi.

When I was in the service, I would have preferred the seb over the mnandi, but in my current position (office) I find the Mnandi more realistic.

Good luck and post pics of whatever you choose.

I own all three knives you mentioned. WH is the sharpest knife I have ever had. However, the mnandi feels like a superior product and has a nice pocket clip. I prefer the mnandi for a gent knife.
