I need help got two knives dont know which one is better with edge retention i have buck bantam and kershaw leek need advice

? What are the steels on the knives? If the Buck has S30V, than that one definitely.

I believe the leek with 14C28N would have better edge retension compared to the bantam with 420HC. There are many who really like buck's heat treat of the 420HC so you will most likely be happy with either one. I really like the leek and have been wanting a composite one with D2 for a while

Don't worry about it, use both and see for yourself. There are also plenty of resources on the web on different blade steels, Google em. Any good knife company will list what steel is used on their website if not on the package or even the stamp on the blade.

Thanks for the help i guess i just worry about it staying sharp I'm a firefighter and usage changes from day to day
