Need extra-thick-handled kitchen knife for my wife

I'm hoping for recommendations for off-the-shelf or custom. My wife has hand issues. She needs a very thick handle on a kitchen knife. I've already shown her the OXO line. Even that is too thin, since it is thick enough only in one dimension. I think she needs a handle that is a thick symmetrical cylinder, preferably of a grippy material.

Does anyone know of a knife like that, or is someone willing to make one?

Thanks,

Michael

Something like this might be a good solution.

look up kitchen products for people with arthritis, it might get you in the direction you are looking for. if not you can try posting in the knifemakers section in the "wanted:knifemaker/craftsman/related services area and see if someone will make what you are looking for

Might try looking at hardware store for pvc pipe insulation or similar product. Wrap /Affix this to the handle of a knife you now own as a trail to find what size shape works best.

Not sure where this comes from but it has a a nice big handle,
somebody may be able to read the name
this thing has a nice thin blade that stays sharp. I use it for skinning

I should add I have a real big hand with old age stiff knuckles
and this knife feels good when the knuckles dont want to bend and others knifes are too small

i would get a production knife and have it rehandled by someone that knows what he's doing to keep the costs down.

or get a custom knife from a knife maker.

Dexter makes one called the Duo glide, specifically for people with arthritis, I have never used or seen one, but it might be worth checking out. The forschner fibrox are fairly thick as well.
