Looking for recommendations on a fixed blade knife/sheath for IWB carry. Will be carried along with my CCW. Looking to spend under $100 if possible.

I have been thinking along the same lines. I am tired of carrying my Kershaw Blur in my pocket. It makes it hard to reach into my pocket without tearing up my hand. Anyway, I have been looking pretty close at some of the "Neck Knives" out there like the Becker Necker, Cold Steel, Mini Tac Tanto and, the Izula by Rat Cutlery. There are others as well that fit the same profile. They all have blades less than 3 1/2" and thin or no scales. I think that any of them would make a great lightweight knife for the kind of carry you are thinking about. Some of them have sheaths that may work, but a custom sheath may be in order for others.

I have two FBs that I can carry IWB, a Dozier K1 and a Fallkniven F1. What makes them work IWB are Concealex sheaths by Normark. These sheaths can be adjusted for carry IWB or out, canted, vertical or horizontal, right or left. Very versatile, tough and IMHO a classic design.

You might want to check out Bud Nealy's knives. He has a pretty neat system for concealment. Here's a little one I bought:

This is a great little knife.

I carried an ESEE/RAT RC-3 inside of my waistband for a year or so, it was the largest knife possible that I could carry and conceal with absolute comfort and minimum effort. Kind of like the Glock 19 of knives :D

Here's a review that I did a while ago:

I have a new RC-3 with a sharpened reverse edge coming in the mail right now. I can't wait...

Thanks for the info guys. Definitely looking for additional opinions. If there is another thread that covers this can you point me too it?

Spyderco Temperance 2 is a good choice. It's not cheap though. You can probably find one lightly used.

There are a bunch in this catagory, Spyderco Streetbeat, I picked one up on ebay delivered 110.00 Benchmade Nimravus cub right at 100.00 @blade hq, Greco bootknife ebay about 50.00 and of course ESEE Izula......

I carried my Becker BK-11 IWB with KA BAR's TDI clip for a while before i put it on my bug out bag. It worked very well and less than $50

Buck Packlite skinner, DPx HEST and the BK11 would be my first considerations, though with all of them you'd have to find or make a more suitable sheath.

For under $100 your options are highly limited. Very few - if any - production knives come with a IWB sheath and an aftermarket sheath will cost you around $40 - $50 from a reputable sheathmaker.

You're looking at $150 - $200 for something decent. Anything else and you'll probably just be wasting your money.

Most best (IMO) tactical IWB knives are discontinued.
Here are my favourites

Spyderco street bowie (more than 100)
Spyderco Temperance 1 (more than 100)
CRKT Polkowski Kasper (great knife, awful sheath)
Boker Bud Neally Specialist(this is nice - more options than just IWB, it work great with jacket)

There are also some daggers, but I'm not sure about CCW law and double edged knives.

CRKT Polkowski Kasper with a new sheath. I carry it on ocassion and liked it so much I bought another. Razor sharp, flat, great handle ergo's and with a new kydex sheath and rubber belt loop it just disappears even under a light tee shirt. keepem sharp

I completely disagree. The BK11 or ESEE 3 (for example) are very well more than decent.

Incidentally I got my ESEE3-MIL in the mail and have been carrying it IWB via included boot clip all day and it is very comfortable and it is a SWEET knife.

the BUD NEALY is not cheap but you have a bunch of carry options, I have a Pesh-Kabz and love it. check out his web site. the HEST is just awesome for the money!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! hard to beat the quality, price, warranty ect.....same for the Izula

The Greco boot knife suggested is a fairly big knife, but his Dangler's are not bad. The sheath doesn't really allow for IWB carry, but it is a decent, sturdy FB I can't believe how well the edge on mine has held up (The SS verion, too).

I've always liked the Ontario made RAT3 for IWB. It's a little smaller than the RC/ESEE 3, doesn't have the "glass-breaker" pommel, has about the same blade length, & is noticably smaller. Plus, you might even be able to get one in D2.

The CRKT/Polkowski Kasper is an excellent choice, too. I had one several yrs ago & wish I still had it. Nice design.

A HAK isn't bad, either & you can carry it a # of ways. I have a Joe Brum version as my EDC. It's my most carried knife. Others, I rotate, but that one's always carried, just like my handgun.

Good luck.

Spyderco Street Beat - comes with G-Clip for belt-through or inside/outside waistband carry. Very slick little knives and reasonable if you really shop hard for one. :)

This is what I carry and recommend. But you'll never find one for under a 100$
