Hey you guys wondering if anybody knows where I can find what I'm looking for

I have a bunch of shorts I really like. They are about knee length, slightly above with big cargo pockets on the side. They are sort of made to mimic a pair of GI jungle pants the ones with the pockets on the side, that have been cut off.

Anyway they are all COTTON and I'm wondering if anybody can point me to a site that might sell the same thing in thin nylon that would be better for heat and moisture dissipation??

I can find lots of nylon shorts but none seem to have the length or the big pockets.

Any help appreciated.

You can get ripstop BDU shorts in 65% polyester/35% cotton. I know Propper makes them, and imagine they're not the only ones.
I googled "ripstop nylon BDU shorts" and see some are 50/50, not 65/35.

Go measure the inseam on your favorite pair so you know what you're looking for, probably 11" or something from the sound of it...

Next, like cgd says, go to rei.com and look at all hiking shorts (see if this link works, otherwise surf to men's shorts http://www.rei.com/search?cat=8000&cat=40004589&cat=4501399&hist=cat%2C40004589%3AMen%27s+Shorts^cat%2C4501399%3AMen%27s+Hiking%2FTravel+Shorts). Click all the little check boxes next to the Compare buttons on the shorts that look like they have reasonably close pocket configs, then finally click one of the Compare buttons. You can then check the inseams on the table...

Backcountry Outlet also has a huge selection, MooseJaw, Sierra Trading Post etc are other sites to check.-everybody's making lightweight nylon ripstop pants these days so I'd imagine they won't be hard to find.
