For those of you who don't know me, I'm Craig Gottlieb and I own Gurkha House. We're working on a project called the WWIII Khukuri. Below is a picture of the knife as it currently exists:

I'm looking for is somebody who can fashion and affix micarta scaled handles to 40 of these babies. As it is a hard-use utility knife, the handles would need to be pinned, which would mean drilling holes into the full tang.

Also be advised that I want to have the knife hot blued, so it may be necessary to temporarily affix the rough handles, build and shape the handles, and then remove them for the bluing. Otherwise, I'd guess that your buffing and grinding would remove the blued finish were it to be applied before handle construction. I mention these things only to show that I recognize what a job this is. Please call 703-536-5555, ext 101 and speak to me if you are interested in this job.

Thanks!

Still looking - This project would generate some good publicity for an up-and-coming knife maker - a chance to show your stuff.

Craig, are the gurad and pommel at right angles to the handles, or will the handles need to be rounded off where they join the guard and pommel at the tang??

I think that I could do that for you. Please tell what the time frame for this project is and the expected pay if there is any. I could use the publicity!
