Need help! Boker Damascus kalishnikov auto rust removal! Told ya , please help!

I must've put said knife away after a hot day in my pocket. I don't want to scratch the blade but there is minute rust spots on both sides of the single edged dagger blade! What can I use to remove the spots and not harm the beautiful blade? Thank you in advance for your suggestions!

WD-40 is pretty good with surface rust.

A little more aggressive you might try Mother's Mag Polish or Flitz

Or, you can soak it in cider vinegar and water.

After you get the rust off, keep it wiped down with a rust inhibitor

This knife was actually my very first mail order knife! Since then I've amassed a pretty decent collection. This guy got left behind safe in a case. That was before I started oiling my blades tho and well looks like the harm was already done!
The Damascus is a bit textured and WD didn't work. I tried that before the post. Thanks for your help I'm headed to the Home Depot anyway so I'll look while I'm there.

I have had good success with Flitz. You find it in the automotive cleaning and waxing products section.

Thanks Daniel I went with deep penetrating 3 in 1 oil it looks like it covers all the bases if this doesn't work Flitz it is!

Flitz will change the surface Finish (afaik). the Lansky Rust eraser or anything similar should Work like a charm. I think it's just above 10$
