Need help buying a Busse......

My uncles b-day is coming up and Id like to get him a Busse. He is a big fisherman and I was hoping to get him a knife that he could carry comfortably on his boat all day and good and also good for cutting up fish. Besides the Busse fillet knife what would you recommend. He as seen my ABALES and loves them but I dont think I could part with them. What do you use.

ive got a custom shop meaner with grex handles but im thinking the blade is to thick.
 
Did you get a Cultellus in the last Ganza? My steelnut sheath just arrived. I'm at work, so I haven't been able to check the fit yet. It should make for one slicey lil EDC.

The true leaners are about as hard to find as the ABA's. The SE's and the DC/black g-10 from ganza were .170. You can find those a bit easier.

How thick is your CS Mr?
 
It's going to be hard finding a Busse thinner than .170... except the Cultillis or GW.

Who knows what the up comming ganza will hold though.

Just send him an ABALE, there no good, and I'll buy your others to get em off your hands:p
 
The SE AD and MRS were something like .144. 'Course, the blade length isn't very different from a Cultellus either, right?

You know, one of the bog dog or dog skinners in D2 would have been about right!

The SE's are .170 or a bit over like the DC/Black G-10's. About a half inch longer blade.
At least mine from Blade and Ganza are.

The thinner ones I've mic'd were:

GW SMOG 0.1425"
GW Custom (scrollwork) 0.143"
GW OJ 0.144"
Dog Skinner Master Series 0.149"
Dog Skinner Custom Shop 0.1552"
Meaner Streets Custom 0.1555"
Active Duty SE 0.170"
Meaner Streets SE 0.170"
 
Maybe a Skeleton Warden or Skeleton Key. If you go with Busse for your uncle, remember they're poor swimmers.:D

Seems to me a Cultellus would be a very cool, classy, perfect gift for what you are looking for.

And I would think it would be perfect for fish ... chicken, beef.... or PORK!!

Perhaps even two ... for a better trade (and then you could have one for yourself) ...But hey thats just me and such offers are not common - Thats why one sould not sell his ADs etc... as they might be desired later:rolleyes:;):eek:
