I've decided to pick up a couple of case knives for my birthday in about a month. The first one that I'm definitely going to get is the Swayback Jack. And for the second one I'm torn between the Peanut and the Medium stockman. Maybe you guys could tell me which one of these two you prefer and why. Thanks for the help!

i would say the stockman

not because its better, but because the peanut is a small jack kinda like the swayback
at least the stockman is an entirely different pattern, so you can try it out and see which style you like better

just my 2 cents

Medium Stockman.
It was my first Case. I really like the design, the feel, easy carry, and 3 blades.
I got my dad a Peanut. I can see why it's popular - carries like it's not there. But it's just a little small for my hands.

I got my Swayback Jack 2 weeks ago. You'll love it. Detents are much tighter than the stockman, copperhead, and peanut in my acquaintance. I love the individual blade cutouts in the bolster. It just exudes quality, and feels great in the hand.

Cool!
Whatever you get, add a new Caliber folder. You will be glad you did.

It doesn't really matter. You are going to wind up with all three plus some others anyway. It's all over now.

I'm not a stockman fan but this medium stockman feels great in the hand and I would think it's up to much harder work than the peanut. Here's a pic for size.

I think I am gonna go with the stockman first then I'll just get the peanut later. I like the size better and I really like the sheepsfoot and spey blades as well.

Thanks for the comparison pics.

I am a big fan of the peanut, and you can't go wrong ever with a medium stockman. But the swayback jack is something very, very special.

Yeah that's why I didn't even question buying that one when I decided to buy a couple of case knives.

That's exactly what I'll do. thanks.

Are you getting these to use or collect?? If to collect then I recommend get the limited edition ones so when they get older they probably go up in value.

Case is currently showing a version of the Peanut with the second blade being folding scissors.

Now THAT is interesting if you're looking for a user.
